Blogosphere Day

by: Brian Leubitz

Wed Jul 18, 2007 at 20:58:50 PM PDT

(Happy Birthday Brian! - promoted by Bob Brigham)

Well, tomorrow is Blogosphere Day (and my Birthday, the last one...after this the clock stops as far as I'm concerned). So, I know there are a few things going on around the state. But, what can you do tomorrow? Well, you can toss a few bucks at the Calitics ActBlue Page, (and give a big, smiling tip to the good folks at ActBlue). Or you could nominate somebody to be on the Calitics-endorsed list. Or you could host a little get together in honor of my birthday Blogosphere Day.

And, if you want more history on blogosphere day...um, ask Bob. So, what are you doing?

Happy birthday, Brian (0.00 / 0)
Every November I celebrate the anniversary of my 39th birthday. I think you can keep counting birthdays for a while.

Now excuse me while I go plot how I can turn Blogosphere Day into a day off from work.

hey! (8.00 / 1)
it's national blogtopia day!  and yes, i coined that phrase!

skippy the bush kangaroo! now with 30% more snark!

skippy, I love you (8.00 / 1)
But this is the only day of the year I can say I coined the phrase.

A candidate for your birthday (0.00 / 0)
Happy Birthday, Brian!

Here's a strong progressive for you:  Manuel Pérez of Coachella for the California State Assembly:

And here's my first Calitics diary on him:

I'm union staff, but not a spokesperson for my union - all posts represent my views solely.

You should nominate him (0.00 / 0)
For a Calitics endorsement perhaps.

I hereby nominate Manuel Pérez (0.00 / 0)
for Calitics endorsement.  As I mentioned in my last Perez diary, Manuel Perez represents the legacy of Cesar Chavez in the 80th AD.

From the first one

Manuel Pérez is a hands-on, no bs, Harvard-educated community organizer from the heart of the Coachella Valley.  You want direct, unapologetic progressives with experience in building a just and healthy society?  I've got one right here.

Here's where he's been:  Escuelas Si Pintas No, Youth in Focus, CVUSD.  Here's what he'll do as a legislator for California.  Manuel Pérez represents the very best of our community, and I'm honored to be volunteering for his campaign for the California State Assembly seat representing the 80th District.

And a diary comparing him to his primary rivals.  More as the campaign unfolds.

I'm union staff, but not a spokesperson for my union - all posts represent my views solely.

I for one (8.00 / 1)
hope it's not your last birthday.  Nothing wrong with 29, but you'll love the thirties.

Happy Birthday Brian (0.00 / 0)
They say as you get older, you get a little more conservative each year (something about paying all of those taxes).  So, here's to the hold out -- to the one who gets more liberal each year.  Happy Birthday.

Haha (0.00 / 0)
You keep hoping.  It will take more time away from the rest of your activities ;)

Hmmm...maybe you're right (0.00 / 0)
I'm thinking about outsourcing the president's job for oh, about a year and a half.

I think?

Funny (0.00 / 0)
It worked exactly the opposite way for me.  As I got older and learned more about the way the world really worked (as opposed to the way it worked in theory) I became more liberal.

And I pay plenty of taxes.

Huh.
