Our First Boxer Virtual Fundraiser

It's great to be here blogging with you at Calitics!  I look forward to stopping by regularly and working with you in the weeks and months ahead.

As you probably know, I'm running for re-election in 2010, and our June 30th fundraising deadline is rapidly approaching.  It's important that we post solid numbers at the end of each quarter to show our potential right-wing opponents that we're ready for anything they throw at us. But this deadline is even more important than most.

Why? (Edit by Brian...See the flip)

Barbara Boxer :: Our First Boxer Virtual Fundraiser
Because we understand that former HP CEO Carly Fiorina is poised to jump in the 2010 Senate race any day now. She'll be the best-funded opponent I've ever faced, with nearly unlimited personal resources to pour into the campaign. We need to be ready to match her deep pockets with the grassroots support of friends like you.

So at this critical juncture, we're going to do something truly unique - and I hope you'll be a part of it!

On Tuesday, June 30th, at 6:15pm PT / 9:15pm ET, we'll be hosting our first ever Boxer Virtual Fundraiser. You don't need to drive anywhere, or get dressed up, or find a babysitter for the kids. In fact, all you need to do is jump online to join us.

During next Tuesday's Boxer Virtual Fundraiser, I'll be speaking to you live via webcast from San Francisco. I'll share the latest information about the campaign and answer some of your questions in real-time - and you can just tune in over the internet to watch, listen, and participate.

Plus, because this is a virtual fundraiser, we don't need to rent a room or pay for food and drinks. So 100% of your contribution will go directly into our Media Fund, preparing us for the attacks that are sure to come.

We've made it easy and affordable for everyone to participate in this grassroots fundraiser - and I hope you will.

Please click here to RSVP for our first Boxer Virtual Fundraiser now -- and join us online next Tuesday at 6:15pm PT!

We're going to have to get creative and pull out all the stops to win in 2010 - and next Tuesday's online virtual fundraiser is just the first step.

Thanks so much for your continued support. I look forward to speaking to you Tuesday night!

Carly? (5.00 / 2)
Nobody likes Carly. Even the flat-taxers have turned on her. Hell, she'll never win just based on the price of replacement ink cartridges.

Bboxer could kill Ms Fiorina with one ad that let people know that the ink cartridges in every ink jet printer that HP ever sold were only partially filled.

We need to be raising vast sums for Barbara Boxer to allow her to campaign against the Chuck Devore campaign of twitter feeds and youtube ads. Otherwise, Chuck will beat Barbara the same way Mike Gravel humiliated that upstart Illinois Senator in the primary.

Speaking of Chuck DeVore (0.00 / 0)
I apologize as one of his constituents that Orange County has unleashed this sorry excuse for a State Assemblyman.  He continues to dish out the usual insults, straw man arguments and extremely insulting ads against you.

Having said that, you have our support here in the OC.  But please, please, we ask that you keep a public option in health care reform, it's imperative.

Unlimited funds (0.00 / 0)
I think Carly's (nearly) unlimited fundraising potential is the biggest issue.  She'll have a lot of $$$ that she can quickly pour into the race, if she chooses to, and that means we've got to be ready.  CA is an expensive state to run any kind of campaign in, and resources is a critical element -- no matter how popular or unpopular you may be.

I'm almost tempted to give DeVore some money, just to have the fun continue. It's really pretty awesome the stuff that emerges from that guy.

I suppose I'll pass on giving chuck money, but man, i hope he wins that primary...

I think?

Don't go there, Brian (4.00 / 1)
Although I did once give $5.00 to an ultra-right group at the urging of savvy progressives,  and was amazed over the next several years to see how many other groups spent hundreds of dollars soliciting me, and sending me prepaid envelopes, which I always returned.

Just rest assured that Carly will never get the votes of the movement conservatives, and no movement conservative will ever win a statewide vote.

If Carly were serious about running, she would have already announced, but the polling shows that a majority of Californians will vote against her once they realize how Carly screwed them on partially-filled ink cartridges with new ink-jet printers.

This crosses all party lines.

"Carly drove a Rolls-Royce, while my printer died because HP cheated us on blue ink, red ink, yellow ink, and black ink."

I find it very difficult to do much for the Senator this time around, given that at every moment, this one time champion of the environment has caved to the "pave it all" lobby and to the biggest denier of climate change in the Senate.

I grow tired of electing Democrats in this state, who upon attaining real power to do good, end up caving in to the right. Bombard me with emails when you're ready to do some real good for transit, for the environment and the state NOW, instead of rehashing something you did 20 years ago.
