Fair taxation

This diary is all about the fairtax. A tax system with very few rules, compared to the the current 67,000 page monstrosity we currently have. It replaces all income taxes with a 23% sales tax, which almost completely gets rid of the IRS. Says goodbye to tax lobbyists, accountants, and lawyers. And puts ALL the hard earned money of all who work for it, into THEIR pockets. Plus, everyone, EVERYONE(the fairtax does not recognize the terms that class warfare has setup), gets a $516 check each month for necessities.

There are governments out there that was to implement this source of revenue for themselves. As a nation that desperately needs the income and jobs that this reform would bring, we cannot allow any other nation to use this against us.

I, like many others, am a supporter of the fairtax, and i'm fed up with the way our government uses taxes against us. If you know about the fairtax, and want to talk about it with me, or if you don't know about it, and want to know more, just add comments to this entry.

like i said i'll talk points with whoever wants to, and this isn't really a simple solution. it's taken quite a bit of effort in the past 14 years to put together.

Oh, and none of what i wrote was taken from Huckabee. He probably mentioned those things because they are exactly what the fairtax does.

There are lots of critiques of the "fair tax" out there, many in great detail. Do you seriously think that those of us who post here haven't seen this ridiculous proposal before?

One of the more tedious things about being involved in running a liberal blog is that you see the same "arguments" over and over again, and the people making them demand that you do the work to educate them over and over again, when the answers are all freely available -- they just haven't bothered to look.

Asking the opinions of others is doing work, and i haven't seen any opinions about it, just people that tell me not to talk about it, or try to insult me when i bring it up.

Throw some facts at me that make the fairtax sound bad to you, then i'll go out and check the validity of those facts, and come back and respond to them. I thought that was what a blog was supposed to be about. What would be the point in asking these questions on say a fairtax blog? Ever heard of preaching to the choir? Doesn't get you anywhere. It also shows me how informed people are about the fairtax. There's a lot of lies running around out there that make it into a ploy for only the rich.

Ever had a job? Ever took the time to realize how much you would be bringing home if there wasn't income taxes? Ever thought of what it would be like to let April 15th just pass you by? I was thinking about all that before i heard about this proposal, shit i thought it was some kind of whack job liberal idea when i heard the name. Then i got the books on it, and my eyes are wide open.

I'm for helping the poor. I'm for helping the middle class. I'm for helping the rich. I'm for helping everyone, you can't give things away and expect that to help people, when they learn to help themselves is when they truly begin to live. Helping those that CAN'T help themselves, is not giving things away, so don't even try to attack me about people on disability.

But you're just lazy. Do the work (and do the math on the average tax rate that you actually pay vs. what the VERY VERY RICH people pimping the "fairtax" proposal would actually pay).

I'm not going to reargue this ridiculous and disingenous proposal with you, when it's already been argued over and over again all over the internet. Do your homework, don't just be a shill.
