It's always the simple-minded conservative, isn't it?

That gets busted for being greedy, doing something stupid, and ends up in jail.  Well, here in SF, our simple-minded conservative is Ed Jew and he's in lots and lots of trouble. Not only did he lie about his residency, but Supervisor (at least for a little while) Jew also, allegedly, took bribes in some sort of extortion scheme.

Yesterday, the Feds indicted him, and he's in federal court today.  The Mayor has demanded that he resign his position. And rightly so, the Mayor, and all of the supervisors and most other City/County officials have called on him to resign. He should do so, like yesterday, and let SF move on.

Why the wait, Newsom? (0.00 / 0)
But Newsom did not call on Tapioca Ed to resign until yesterday afternoon.  Nor did he call on the City Ethics Commission to investigate until yesterday afternoon.  Gavin waited until the political pressure was too much before throwing his best conservative ally on the Board of Supervisors under the bus.

But you really gotta love Jew.  He didn't even wait until the ink was dry on his Supervisor business cards before he started using his position as a way to line his pockets with extorted "protection money."  I always thought that corruption was something that happened to jaded politicians.  Jew certainly was an overachiever.
