Today the California Democratic Party launched its new website "introducing Carly Fiorina to California voters" - Carlyfailorina.com. It's got some good stuff up there about her record of failure at HP and on the McCain campaign.

But nobody explains Carlyfailorina like the candidate herself. Today the Carly Fiorina campaign released a video so stunningly awful that it makes one wonder if they are trying for the "so awful it's good" approach to getting it to go viral:

The ad is an attack on Tom Campbell for not actually being a fiscal conservative. The attack could be potent in theory, but the execution is laughably bad. It resembles a cross between a bad church recruitment video, a Monty Python sketch, and a Pink Floyd album cover.

It's just nuts. I don't know who on the Carlyfailorina campaign thought this would be a good use of money, but it's another sign that Fiorina isn't ready for prime time.

That's all I can respond with when someone asks what this video means.

I hope Carly is not elected (0.00 / 0)

I don't think "bad" is a strong enough word for that.  Yeesh.

this is the funniest thing i have seen in a long time (0.00 / 0)
in addition to the obvious FAIL, why did they get someone with an east coast accent to read that script?

Thanks for brightening my morning :) (4.00 / 1)
My girlfriend and I haven't laughed so hard in a while.  However, she brought up two very good points:

(1) How could you have failed to miss the clear link to early Woody Allen films?  Just look at that costume...
(2) Given that link, the Daisy references become too blatant to miss...

Carly Fiorina:  advocating inter-species erotica for our schoolchildren.

I'm disgusted and repulsed and... (0.00 / 0)

So far Carly's likened herself to a dog, Barbara Boxer to a cat, and Tom Campbell to a daemonic sheep. Doesn't DeVore get to play too?

It seems like she has some twisted repressed urge to tie uncapped silliness into policy-making. I'd suggest we allow her to participate in a model congress at one of California's high schools, so she can blow off her steam.

It is kind of ironic that this is what she's using against a candidate who seems inclined to get far more specific about policy proposals than any campaign manager would advise.

One more point of irony... (0.00 / 0)
...It's also pretty ironic that Carly accuses Campbell of fiscal conservative heresy over supporting a gas tax increase, when Ronald Reagan more than doubled federal gas taxes, from 4 to 9 cents/gallon, and supported a mandate that 1 cent/gallon be invested in mass transit.

It might be nice(r) if Republicans admired Reagan, in practice, as much as they do in verbiage (it would be very hard for the type of Republican who would support a federal gas tax increase, with a mandate that a portion go to public transit (a trifecta of tax heresy, car culture heresy, and federalism heresy), to make it out of a Republican primary, today)

Zombie Reagan is beyond all irony (0.00 / 0)
I know that Real Reagan did all of these things, but Zombie Reagan wouldn't be caught dead raising taxes.
